Shellness, 12:40 to 18:10, Mild and mainly sunny. Strong Westerly breeze easing considerably later.
4 Marsh Harrier (Three together over Harty Marshes, the fourth rose from the saltings nearer the car park. ), 1 Kestrel, 1 Merlin, 6 Short-eared Owl (Active from 13.30 to 17.25 in bursts over a very large area. No doubt about the number of individual Owls.) [Bryan Benn]

1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Kestrel, 1 Barn Owl (18.22, made a lovely sight hunting the saltings at dusk), 1 Tawny Owl (18.20, a male very briefly heard calling from the same Westerly direction I heard one here on 11th March. Just audible above the noise of the Hamlet generator. ), 4 Short-eared Owl (14.00 one hunting over towards Harty Marshes. The three from the Shellness roost just made short flights from the roost at 15.10, (1 Owl), and 17.00 (2 Owls). They had been reported active earlier in the day before I arrived.) [Bryan Benn]

Shellness, 13:35 to 17:55, Mild, but cold later. Cloudy with some brightness, v light WNW wind except for a squally rain shower around 17.00.
1 Kestrel (Got chased onto the top of a tall telephone line post by a Short-eared Owl!), 4 Short-eared Owl (13.35, one hunting out towards Harty Marshes. 13.55, three rose from the Shellness roost in quick succession. Activity seen over a wide area until 16.35, but main activity ended circa 15.00. ) [Bryan Benn]
